omfg I cant believe it. Even if I strike lottery also wont be so "lucky". First FA lesson. Quiz. Nvm could still rely on my Finance. Hmwk every wk. Nvm it's still manageable. 4 ch*** people in my grp out of 6. OMFG. random assignment by computer my foot. usually its just one per group, but no i have FOUR. and they're all friends! how is this random assignment? plus they're like super bo chup. If they're hardworking and muggerish and care about the project I'm fine, but no they rather study the text like its the bible. Ok its just my first impression, maybe they wont be so bad, so we shall see. god i cant believe it. maybe i should buy 4D today.

Dammit! I've only 2 confirmed classes as of now. Sucks big time. Like wtf does everyone bid so high for. So now i'm gonna overbid for FA. ohwells. sucky. 2nd wk of sch and still clueless on my classes. haha fantastic.

And I'm jealous that everyone went overseas to exotic places during hols. I wanna go Europe and walk through their cobbled pathways, laze around sitting on steps eating donuts, gawk at the stained glass of churches and paintings in museums. Bask under the European sun while taking pictures of alleyways and architecture. Or go US and shop in Gap or A&F or Hollister and sun bathe on the beaches while people watching. Visit themeparks and scream my lungs out during the rides. Stuff myself with oversized portions of burgers and fries and ice cream. All I want to get away from boring old singapore. No matter where, anywhere will do.

why cant I have unlimited money. Boo

Sch starts. Though it has already been for me this past month. Thk its good that I'm already in the school-mode. Easier to mug haha.

Boss was screwed up today. At one point it dropped 2 of my confirmed classes and left me in a frenzy. But all's well now. Though I'm stil working on my timetable. Tis terrible. First wk of sch and only one confirmed class. Blah.

Coffee with Marcus was good. Caught up after so long and it felt good. To just talk. Starbucks are selling caramel macchiato mooncakes. Can u imagine that?! Coffee flavored mooncakes. mmmm. Met up with Siok after that for rojak and desert. After so long we can still talk like there's no tmr. And we havent exhausted all topics yet. Amazing. hehe.

Sch tmr just to bid on boss coz I cant bid at home. Boringg.

Drove around in the cooper today!! Man it was a scary experience. Not coz it was manual, but mainly because I'm used to driving below 60km/hr. Seriously, Ubi doesnt really teach you anything about driving outside Ubi.

I can vertical park but not parallel park without poles. Like how do they expect us to park outside when we learnt using poles?! Duhh.

So anyways it was an exciting experience!! Although it was heart stopping for adam. HAHA

For the first time ever, I actually sat down with my dad and we talked. over dinner.
Weird.
He was going on about how finance was the way to go, him being in the financial markets before, and how the sky's the limit and 10k a month was peanuts 0_0 Weird stuff. And he actually said he was happy that I was going into finance, coz thats where the money is. So this money thing runs in my family urg. He made his mistakes and was telling me how not to be over greedy and do stupid things like nick leeson who exploded the accounts and brought Barrings down. Said he used to drink with that guy 0_0 seriously, I find that hard to believe, but the world's a small place and anything's possible. AND he offered to sponsor a MBA in US after i grad. Now that is serious.

Guess this actually makes me wanna study really hard to be really good and earn more than 10k a month. Hah. High expectations. High aspirations. Alot of live up to. 2 more years.

And the first step is monday's finance test.

But we just have to accept it and move on.

Finally collected my first holga roll. Didnt turn out too bad, but it seems almost too perfect. Was hoping for more light leaks and stuff, but ohwells, my holga is perfect. Is that even possible?
Alrights it isnt very neat and I'm no idea how to get rid of the white border. Anyway it looks better on the screen then on print.

Baybeats at the Esplanade.

Went on Fri after the trading track talk. I cant remember what are the compulsory courses anymore, but they should post it up somewhere on oasis soon. Another thing is I've no finance kakis to take finance mods with me, so next sem I'm gonna go class and stone. And try to make small talk with those biz ppl. *roll eyes. Damn projects. Most of my friends are from sess, socsci and econs, I've just realized. Hmm... Maybe those biz hardcore geeks would be friendly and help out a poor clueless socsci person aka me. Ohh, I better change my thu morn class, must remember.

Anyway back to Baybeats. On Friday we heard the Great Spy Experiment, West Grand Boulevard (the sg idol Daphne's band) and Tiramisu. West Grand Boulevard is kinda like a rock band, but I dont fancy Daphne screaming out lyrics in her perky voice. But apparently they're almost done producing their album, and are one of the up and coming local bands, so who am I to say anything. Tiramisu was hilarious. They were dressed in polka dots and boas, all glittery and showing lots of skin. And they are males, mind you. I liked their music, but they're weird to look at haha.

Missed sat's performance and only saw Electrico and a bit of Lunarin on Sunday, because a certain Mr A was feeling lazy and uncoorperative. Electrico was fantastic, though abit radio-friendly. I bought their album cause I like one song. haha. They're playing for ndp too btw. Anyway Baybeats made us all inspired to form our own band, get past playing covers to writing our own songs. Perhaps eventually even making an album. Wow. Thats mind blowing. But there are actually tons of local bands around with their own albums, so its not exactly climbing Everest. Making money from doing what you love, man that's THE life.

WC
I think I jinx the wc. Almost all the teams I root for are out. Spain's out, England, Brazil (horrors!) and now Germany. Omg. Brazil was a shocker. I dont know much about soccer tactics and stuff, but to the layman, Brazil played poorly against France. Ronaldino missed on the free kick, and now his statue in Rio is destroyed by furious fans. Ok maybe not because of that free kick, but ohwells. But at least now I know all the cute soccer guys, heh. Gosh cant believe I'm actually doing the talking about soccer thingy.

I'm clueless about what I'm gonna bid for, and its already wednesday. Was thinking of Economic development in Asia and some finance mods. And the CEO talks. Thk I have to ponder more about that. Sigh its so irritating.

And some trojan horse has infected my lappy and wont go away no matter how many times I've deleted it. Its like some stupid thing that'll NEVER go away. Irritating!! So I cant wow now but I can dota. What kind of logic is that?!

Finished my first roll of holga 120. Gonna send it for processing and hope it'll come out ok. Have to find a cheap place too. Its an expensive hobby. bah.

First gig. First official play-for-an-audience-and-not-only-us gig. I daresay it went pretty well. No big screwups (except for the off key bday song), songs were good and everyone was in time. Fantastic first considering we only had 1.5 weeks of practice. And me being the only newbie, its quite a good start. Another one for Christine's bday and we're well on our way to be a seasoned gig-playing band. HAH.

Tiffany's house is beautifully decorated. Like mega Banyan Tree Resort style, complete with teak furniture, pebbles, trees and concrete slabs as steps. Party was great, met Huiyi, Jacelyn, Huiyin and Jun there. Small world. Small Tj world. Continental buffet with delectable pasta scallops, laksa and a satay chef grilling satay. Posh or what. One MP whose name I cant spell was there too, so it was a mix of young and old. Not many in betweens. Some of the old fogies played in lounges and they did an impromptu jamming session just for the heck of it. They were so enthusiastic, coming complete with their sax, and their passion showed. They could play tunes off their head just like that, either on the bass or guitar or keyboard, and everyone had fun singing along to familar tunes. I had fun hitting some basic beats on the electronic drumset with them and they wont let me leave! Could imagine us being 50 and sing-along be a major "fun" event in gatherings. Wait, that's already happening now, only difference is singing not being the ONLY fun event in parties. heh. Guess I have to go expand my music memory, learn more songs and stuff. Man I just reread what I wrote and it didnt sound okay. so its 3 am and there's a Brazil match to catch though I dont thk lazybum can wake up. Anyways I'm discovering a whole new side of music and I cant wait to see what it'll bring.

Oh ya Victor actually bought Tiffany a tiffany&co necklace with diamonds and it cost fricking 700 bucks!!?!?!? Yeah Adam is so not gonna hear the end of this.

Musicians in Norway are on a strike now, so no more Oslo Philharmonic.

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

Just when I have free tics to it and was preparing to go for my first Arts Fest concert. Why must they strike NOW of all times?!?!?!

Well, I can go for the party thingy now since I have no excuse not to.

After a shortened driving lesson (cause i stupidly forgot to bring my pdl), I met Zhiwei at the Arts House for the Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibition. It was all black and white and I longed for some colour to add to the dreary pics. It was quite depressing, seeing the poverty in France during the 1930s. The picture that struck me the most was a man in a suit doubling over on the ground (with hunger i suppose), and I couldnt stop looking at the gaping hole in his leather shoes. Bothering to dress up even when he's poor. Out of habit perhaps? Behind him were some girls looking on, smiling. The irony. Reminded me of the National Geographic pic of a vulture and a malnourished child. Anyways I cant find the pic anywhere. Robert Doisneau is another photographer with an exhibition at Alliance Francaise. Maybe Baoying'll go with me. haha. 2 boliao girls. We even went to the Fiction @ Love exhibition at the Art Museum. Contemporary art and a first to the museum for me.

Cheap entertainment rocks! Woohoo. For practically nothing, you can increase your culture points and not squander away your free time.

Cathy picturehouse is the best! Watched my first Zhang Yimou film. I expected it to be boring and slow, but no it was a lovely surprise! Really touching. "Riding Alone for a Thousand Miles" is about a father trying to win back his estranged son by going to China to film a mask opera. Along the way he finds kindness and a sense of family. Awww. I wanna watch L'enfant and Paradise Now but both only show late at night. Double boo. Now this not really cheap, so dont recommend it for a regular basis.

I'm actually contemplating an exchange to ntu just to attend their photojournalism course. BY u hear me?!

First "jamming" session in my life, though i was kind of the outsider. Was all adam's friends, who were kinda weird.. eh, different, from mine. Hah. Drops of Jupiter was bad, but Fastball was good. Mighty good really. With me on the keyboard the song became.. fuller. More like the real thing. Gets the blood going. And it was fun to play with people again, albeit abit different ensemble from what I'm used to.

They're preparing for a gig for the guy's gf's bday party, and guess what, its on the same day as the Oslo Philharmonic concert! Ohwells since I'm not officially initiated into the band yet, I guess I can still afford to go the Philharmonic. Gah. Free tic from the sch lehh! But it'll be such fun to perform onstage (to old fogeys, I quote) with a rock band. Sigh the inner rock chick (if she even exists) is calling, fanning the flames. oookkkaaayyyyyy. But it depends on whether the guitarist is able to make it too haha.

Dinner in Geylang for the famous beef kway teow and tou huay, which was unknown to me before. Like would u drive all the way to Geylang and fight for a parking space for some dish which is available just a few streets from your house?! I guess practicality and convenience appeals more to me than the infamousity(?) of food.

No work this week yay! Now what should I do with my days..

I got my lomo today! Its a holga 120N, so there's the night mode to take pics at night. Went and got the cheaper version from a local supplier rather than lomo.com. True there's no 1 yr warranty, no picture book, and accessories, but its wayyy cheaper than from the site, so I guess poor ppl like me cant choose =) Its a medium format camera though i can modify it for the usual 35mm film. Wanna try med format before I go for the cheaper 35mm. Cross-processing rocks! Hope my first roll turns out good.

Fisheye ltr too!

Bought ISO100 film, so i need bright sunlight!

argh i need more money. hah

Hols. Too much time or too little time depending on how you look at it. Its good to finally catch up with people long gone missing. Went shopping with Amanda at Far East and got meself some cheap ck underwear. We're thinking of teaching piano privately to small guillible kids and finally get back some money spent on all those lessons since young. The amount of money spent is simply staggering. I dont wanna start counting or I'll never stop. Garh. Advertising tips anyone? Biz students??

Zhihui's bday party was mad. It was a semi-dhs gathering of all sorts that day. 4A, band, guides, sj, 85, 83. Amazing how everyone was connected to everyone in some way or another. The human twister game was fun, as stupid as it seems. Super adhersive tape to skin is not good, to say the least. Hope she enjoyed her party! Happy birthday again, 21 alr worh. Remembered that her life's ambition was to be a housewife in sec4. Wonder how much that has changed. Having a "rawyer" does help inch her closer to that. HAHA.

Waraku with Shihui at Marina! Man it has been that long hasnt it. Talked alot, ate alot, walked alot. Ok la i'm lazy. And ditch all those useless guys la, wasting your time only. All I can say is do whatever you want, as long as you're happy. Seriously. You're still young with your whole life ahead of you, why bother thinking so much into the future? Well, that's my opinion. Take it from me, who can only think as far ahead as next week. Haha, the irony. Mortons soon! I dont mind tea too =)

I'm currently in a lomo craze phase. It all started with a lomo spree. I've heard of it in the past, toy cameras which really take pictures, but the cams which cut up the pics into fours dont really appeal to me. The fisheye is cool, you can take pics such as this. Sure its nice sometimes, but not all the time. So I've settled on a Holga 120N. The Lomo site is horrendously overpriced so eBay's the way to go. But I'm an eBay idiot. The sg site doesnt stock up on 120N =( Adam's totally against it. He insists on his white elephant pro cam which is collecting dust somewhere in his house. I dont need a pro cam, just something to try my hand at photography with. Ok that didnt make sense. Anyways I do not intend to learn about aperture size or shutter speed or what-nots now, so a simple cam like a lomo is for me. At least for now. So is anyone interested? We can share shipping =D

Have you really and fully lived before?
Experienced feelings? other than fear that is.
Do what your heart desires, without thinking about what others think?
What does it mean to be insane? Being different from others?
Who decides what is normal and what is not anyway?
Maybe those mad people are more sane than us in ways we cant imagine?

sometimes i think people are programmed not to feel. i can honestly say that i'm rather an unfeeling person. really. truly. its kinda sad. i can count the times i'm deeply moved by music with my fingers. deeply, like a stirring in your heart, just like what they say in books. it becomes more than words and sounds, its like a connection with your soul. but often its fleeting, and i dont know how to induce it by will. thats why i admire professional musicians who are in line with their body and soul all the time. maybe thats whats called living. doing what one desires without any constrains. nor fear of what others think.

Paulo Coelho is fantastic. His books are easy to read yet deep in meaning. read one of his books entirely in borders today. haha. yes cheapskate i know, but i read fast!
